I brought my Godson his first swing so he could enjoy it at home. Dad tied it to the tree and Mommy strapped Marshall in and off we went! A great evening for swinging and I do believe Marshall enjoyed it! I hope you find something as enjoyable to do for your Independence Weekend! ~ erin

…I must be having one of those days because I dropped the cake! I was in charge of one thing today - make Jon’s Birthday cake! I made it - maybe someone else should have been in charge of transporting it to the party.

It did land frosting down…but it landed on the lid (mostly) and I had just swept the stairs AND I did remove all the cake that was touching the floor. Not enough time to make another and no more cake mix. Shh - if you don’t say anything - I won’t….AND I will just cut the cake before anyone realizes it looks like this. Just letting you know that you probably don’t want me having anything to do with your birthday cake!

Today Crawford interupted my Tea time at the Playhouse to fix some major website issue! I mean really - tea time at the playhouse is not to be interupted! Today we had raspberry tea with lemon and special mint leaves (which may have been poison ivy - I am kind of itchy now). Alayna was the tea master making tea for Megan & me. Brayden was cooking up some of his famous Sour Punch Soup for our main course.

The Playhouse is at Grandma Hopi’s and the kids play the same way we did when I was little enough to be in the playhouse. Everything is made from dirt, grass, rocks and sticks…but of course there are special rocks for soup, and others for tea and so on. I would have to say today’s menu was exceptional and the nap that I missed out on would have just been the icing on the cake - but not for me…back to work.

If you ever get the chance to stop at the Playhouse and Alayna & Brayden are cooking that day (they are from Texas so it is a real treat to have them in the kitchen) stop by because it will be the best dirt tea and rock soup you will ever pretend to eat!

Wow…is the sun ever going to shine? The way it looks - not until I leave for Chicago on Thursday! Which - if you are going with WNAX to Chicago - ask to be on my bus - it will be the fun (yet relaxing) bus! Look forward to meeting all of you coming along!

I spent Saturday working on my new photo studio. It was the really not fun stuff like comparing prices on internet, deciding how much I am going to charge, paying bills. I would much rather be taking the pictures! Although I have found some barnwood - but too wet this weekend to go get it and hang it on the wall!

 Sunday was the really fun day! I feel bad for leaving for 5 days to Chicago and not having time to help on the farm lately (with the new business taking up all my time) - so I said I would help work a set of cows and calves that we were taking to pasture. This was like the 7th set worked…BUT the only one I am going to get in on this spring. So we started pairing up and getting them to the holding pen. It was cold and soggy - but not raining. By the time we got them all through and into the semi - it was a little misty. Wouldn’t you know it - as we left the house from the last minute bathroom break…it started to pour! The cattle were loaded and we were going! There were some nail bitting moments as the gravel roads to the pasture were soggy and the semi did get stuck in the drive way - but we unloaded them in the rain and what a success it was.

 But wait - that is not the end of the story! We had to spend the next three hours - IN THE RAIN - checking and fixing the fence around the pasture! AAHHH! Finished around 8pm last night and welcomed a warm shower and lots of covers in bed last night. I don’t feel so bad about going to Chicago any more!

Hopefully this week isn’t so crazy - BUT with the little bit I have been home and the stuff that is growing on the cheese in my fridge - I think it will be hecktic! Vacation…please come!

So today is the day I go get those 4 cavities filled! Acutally Tuesday was supposed to be the day and I totally forgot! I have never blown off an appointment like that - but I guess there is a first time of everything. I have been rescheduled to today - and I hope to have all the drugs worn off before I have to do Drivetime this afternoon! Wish me luck… ~ e

Here it is - my new office! Looks pretty cool huh? And yes, this is my BIG NEWS - I am a small business owner. Still some work to do! I want to find some old barn wood to put on the walls - the white looks just too, well white! And I need another deer for the left wall (when you are looking at the picture) - because that is where I wanted the deer in the picture to go - but he would have been looking at the bar then instead of at me. AND apparently their heads are not on a swivel and cannot be turned the other way - darn! We even managed to snap a picture to commemorate the move and accomplishment of starting a new business! I have more organizing and work to do tonight and probably every night this week and next - but I am excited to get started! and I will make sure the drill and bush light cans are removed before I take anyone’s pictures in front of it!

I spent my weekend cleaning out and cleaning up and old office space to create a new office space for me! I am not leaving my office space here at the radio station - just creating a place to take pictures! It went well except for the Cat Spiders. And I know you are asking what are Cat Spiders?!

Well, these spiders were as big as CATS and thus I have named them Cat Spiders! I bug bombed the place - but it just wasn’t enough to kill them so I had to take care of the dozen or so Cat Spiders by hand! Eewww! Got it done thought and I move in tonight!  ~ erin
