It only took three days of nagging before my husband finished putting shelves in the pantry! Now all that crap is off the floor and neatly organized in our home “store”. My husband now has a midly happy wife. (Can’t be all the way happy - my “To Do” list is still quite lengthy)

We have had the boiler since Thanksgiving and my husband and I finally got it running Sunday night! It took us all day…and thank goodness we did - it is awfully cold in the wind today! Yeah for HEAT! It smells so yummy. It makes me hungry for s’mores!

It is my first Christmas in our new house and since it feels like Christmas time inside at 43 degrees - I figured it was ok to look like it too! Thought - as we were discussing holiday decorating (my husband and I) decided that the current tree is too large for the living room….as we won’t be able to see out the nice bay window. So we came to the agreement that we - more I - will be putting up two trees! I bought a skinner, REVOLVING tree and decorated it in blue, green & white…and the original big tree will go in the dinning room with out family ornaments!

The lights I bought for the tree have a  REMOTE!!! How lazy are we all that we can’t bend down and unplug the things!!! AAAHHHH! I thought it looks pretty though - and the icicles in the window look like they are dripping! LED lights are so cool!!!

We needed to removed some dirt from the driveway so water could flow away from the house….and in doing so - we will have some neat landscaping we can add around the house. Still lots of work to do inside and out - but every little bit is progress I welcome!

Before I left for DC yesterday…we did manage to move a few things into our new house - just before our first wedding anniversary tomorrow! There is still a lot of little stuff to move…but it is at least started and now waiting in boxes for my return.

I have pictures of the new carpet in… I already have a few pictures of some of the furniture on top of the new carpet…. but I keep forgetting my camera at the house! Plus - with all the moving and getting ready to leave for DC tomorrow… I cannot seem to find everything I need to pack! Half is here in Yankton and the other half at the new house in Tabor!

And my husband would kill me if I said this on the radio today…so I will leave it here for the few that stop by every now and again - we stayed in the new house last night AND decided we needed to lock all the doors (not really sure why) but he came to regret that in the early morning hours today! I left the house at 4:15 this morning - as we have no plumbing yet and needed to return to my apartment to shower this morning. My husband - still noting the lack of plumbing - decided to venture out this morning not fully dressed yet only to discover that once I had left - he was unable to get back into the house! Luckily most of his things are still in his parents house - which is only a block or so away….and luckily it was 4am and very few critters were awake to see his venture to gather some clothes! Now to figure out how to get back in….

They came… and I did soooo goooood! I say that because I did all the appliance purchasing myself. My husband had very little input. I picked them out - I researched - I even paid for them! So far - no complaints….but then again - they haven’t even been there 24 hours! The dessert was delicious and it was nice that my Dad came out to share it with me! Jon was in the field - and I hated to eat it alone…so Dad came with ice-cream! YUM!!!

Carpet should be done today!

It looks good… I looks easy to clean… and my husband LIKES it! I think we can consider this a WIN all the way around!

And I had to take a break from cleaning the house (yes cleaning again!) to help move equipment from one field to the next. We make quite a scene when we go on the move… and we take up LOTS of space!

And if you notice, we are a friend of all colors! In just this parade we have green, white AND red!

Though we finished the painting on Sunday…and I haven’t even been in the house since then…I am just getting the pictures out there! Been a busy week after work as I mowed for the first time Monday (wrapping hot wire in the mower 4 times…making it a long and ANGRY process) - then Tues-Thurs I had pictures each and every afternoon/evening. I got my oil changed in there - helped move the tractors to our fields North of Scotland and still haven’t gotten in the nap I have been after all week!

Not only did we paint lots of colors….we also painted some designs on the wall!

The math was making my head hurt the days Dee helped me with this!

We continue along….slowly and steadily. The project that is our rock wall is now totally complete! We sealed it up (Dad, Katie & myself) on Sunday. Picture from that at the link below:

AND the cabinets have arrived! They continue to install all the pieces…and expect to be complete on Wednesday!
